THE Rock of Ages Experience comes to Frome at the Memorial Theatre on Saturday 7th September to perform rock classics of the 80s.
This performance is made extra special for the band as bassist, Mikey J, will be returning to the theatre for the first time since his childhood.
Mike’s grandparents lived and worked in the town for much of their lives, with his mum being brought up there too. He was around 12 or 13 years of age when he last was at the Memorial Theatre, back when it was ‘The Grand’ cinema and is truly excited to now be playing there with The Rock of Ages Experience.
Organisers of the show said, “From Bon Jovi, Guns ‘n’ Roses to Journey and Whitesnake – this six-piece band will rock the house to its very foundations! So if you want a night of rockin’ eighties fun – you’re coming to the right place. If you enjoyed the Hollywood film and musical ‘Rock of Ages’ and the stage production, but wanted more of the music, this is definitely the show for you.
“Not only do they perform the best songs from the film and musical, but they have incorporated even more iconic hits from the era – hits like ‘Living on a Prayer, ‘Sweet Child of Mine’, ‘Dead Ringer for Love’, ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’,‘Turn Back Time’, ‘Eye of the Tiger’, ‘Don’t Stop me Now’, ‘I Want it All’ and many more.”
Tickets are available from the Memorial Theatre website: www.fmt.website. Adults are £21, concessions £20 for over 60s and under 16s. Please note that whilst this is advertised as seated, due to the nature of the show, people will stand and dance. Please bear this in mind when choosing your seat.
