Lots of people in our community struggle to get the help they need to lead the lives they want. A growing number of small independent care or support services (also called micro-providers) are setting up in Frome to offer more choice to people looking for support with basic tasks like shopping, cooking, cleaning, gardening, home maintenance and personal care.
If you like the idea of working for yourself, want to make a real difference and have an idea for a service or support in Frome, there is help available.
The Community Council for Somerset in partnership with Somerset County Council have helped over 300 people in the last four years to set up and offer a local supports.
There is free support and funding available and an existing network of independent carers in Frome who are happy to help people explore their ideas.
Vince Tillman enterprise agent said, “I have been involved as a micro provider in Frome for nearly two years now and been fortunate to be the enterprise agent for the Community Council Somerset since January this year.
“These are exciting times and I am passionate about not only helping people set up their own enterprise in a town I love, but also have the knowledge that people in the community have more choice in how they are being supported and helped.”
