FREE health walks are being run in Frome to help local people stay fit and healthy at no cost.
On Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays) a short easy walk sets off from the Cheese & Grain at 10.30am and walks 1-1.5 miles in 30-45 minutes.
On Wednesdays a slighter more difficult 45-50 minute walk takes place from Frome Medical Centre starting at 9.30am.
Then on Fridays, walks generally ranging from three to five miles set off from different places around the area. All walks on a Friday start at 10.30am.
The next one will be this Friday 5th January along the East Woodlands, with Michael. This is a more challenging walk of 4 miles on footpaths and forest tracks in Longleat Forest. It will take between 1 and 1 and a half hours and includes steps, inclines, uneven paths, stiles and gates. Please park in the vicinity of the Horse and Groom pub, BA11 5LY.
On Friday 12th January, meet at the Kennet + Avon Canal Trust Cafe for a 3.5miles walk with Terry along towpath, riverside and field paths including a hill. If that seems too much for you, there is a shorter option with Gill along the towpath and riverside.
On Friday 19th January join Tricia for a 3 mile walk in the Spring gardens. Meet outside Frome Library, Justice Lane Frome, BA11 1BE. There are two short hills and a few stiles.
Finally, on Friday 26th January join Sue for a walk lasting approximately 90 minutes in Rode on field paths and tracks with some stiles. Meet at the village Hall, BA11 6PB.
