THE Pod’s monthly disco for over 16s with additional needs has a new home at The Clubhouse, Frome Town Football Club and on Tuesday 15th August people came from as far as Crewkerne to enjoy a Club Tropicana beach-themed event.
“The monthly discos are a highlight for the community and one of the few places where people with disabilities, and their carers, can relax, let their hair down and dance the night away,” says the charity’s co-manager, Becky Bird.
“Huge thanks go to Georgie and Sam, management at The Clubhouse, for making the group feel so welcome and embracing the beach vibes on this themed night. Feeling supported and welcome in our wider community is wonderful for everyone involved.
“Holiday tunes played by our resident DJ Jonathan kept everyone on the dance floor and fun was had with beach props and costumes at the selfie station.
“The Pod Pop Disco will be held monthly at The Clubhouse and each event will have a different theme chosen by the group. Favourites are silent discos and Zumba nights but all suggestions are welcome.”
The next event is on Tuesday 10th October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Entry costs £7 (£6 for members).
