ORGANISERS have hailed this year’s Carnival Fun Day and Dog Show a huge success with the event raising £1,400 for local charities and causes – the most the event has ever raised.
Crowds gathered at Victoria Park on Saturday 3rd June and were entertained by the dog show, baby show, live music and stalls and fair rides for all the family.
Carnival committee member, Emily Denne said, “Frome Carnival Committee is incredibly pleased to announce that their fun day was a huge success this year.
“Taking over the entirety of the park, the day was packed full with members of the public, whose generous support helped raise approximately £1,400! This money will go directly towards the cost of putting on the September Carnival.
“The dog show was won by Georgie Owen and her 10 month-old puppy, Woody. The judges loved their pairing and were incredibly impressed by Woody’s behaviour.
“The baby show judges had an incredibly difficult task, with so many gorgeous infants entering the competition. After deliberation, Eloisa was announced winner of the 0 to 9 month category, and Lettie the winner of 10 to 18 months. Both babies will have a starring role in the afternoon carnival procession.
“The carnival committee would like to take this opportunity to extend their thanks to the many people and organisations that supported our event this year. Without their loyal supporters, volunteers and local charities and businesses, the day could not take place.”
