BETHLEHEM will be brought to Frome from the Alrowwad Palestinian dance and theatre group for the perfect pre-Christmas treat. They will be performing The Camp’s Gate at Frome Cricket Club in December, as part of their UK tour.
Specially created by Alrowwad Centre for Arts and Culture for the Bethlehem Cultural Festival, this powerful performance brings together music, theatre and traditional Palestinian dabka dance to tell the story of Abu’s past and present, his displacement from his home, life in a refugee camp and his hopes of freedom.
Alrowwad Centre for Arts and Culture is based in Aida refugee camp, Bethlehem, Palestine. It strives to empower children and women by offering opportunities to develop skills in music, dance, theatre, photography and film-making. Alrowwad dancers have previously performed sell-out tours in the UK, USA and Europe.
Frome Friends of Palestine, in association with Bethlehem Cultural Festival UK, are excited to welcome Alrowwad.
The performance will take place at Frome Cricket Club, Rodden Road, BA11 2AH on Thursday 8th December at 7pm. Tickets cost £10 (£8 students) and are available from Frome Friends of Palestine on Eventbrite, or on the door.
