Britain’s Got Talent finalist Andrew Bourn is coming back to Frome for a Christmas spectacular show at the Memorial Theatre.
After first winning hearts in 2014 when he came fourth on Britain’s Got Talent as part of swing group ‘Jack Pack’, Andrew had a fantastic global adventure including a top ten album, performances alongside artists such as Katy Perry, Take That and Jessie J. and multiple TV appearances including Xtra Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Sunday Night at the Palladium.
Now, fresh from his 2023 appearance on ITV1’s Starstruck on which he reached the final performing as Frank Sinatra, Andrew continues to build on his successful solo career and will be appearing in Frome on 29th November with his concert ‘Born To Swing – Christmas Spectacular’.
“Taking place on stage at the Memorial Theatre, his smooth vocals and captivating stage presence, Andrew is sure to mesmerise the audience and create an unforgettable experience,” said the Memorial.
“Having sung for HM King Charles himself, Andrew’s talent is unmatched, and this concert promises a magical atmosphere and a night to remember.
“Andrew is slowly becoming a fixture in the town after a successful show at the Frome Festival, as well as a highly anticipated cameo performance at this year’s Christmas Lights event on November 22nd.
“For the past decade, Andrew has kept the flame lit on the Great American Songbook, rejuvenating this nostalgic genre. Backed by his 7-piece band ‘Party at Franks’, they will not only cover the classics, but new arrangements of modern-day favourites, including a sprinkling of Michael Bublé, Wham and Mariah Carey. His versatile repertoire appeals to a wide range of music enthusiasts, ensuring a diverse and engaging programme for the evening.
“Andrew Bourn’s journey in the entertainment business spans over 20 years, but it was in 2014 that he reached new heights with his swing group, Jack Pack, on Britain’s Got Talent. A record deal with Simon Cowell followed, and their top ten album and performances for A-list stars and royalty solidified their status as true stars of the genre.
“As well as performing on many TV shows such as ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’, one of the most memorable moments in Andrew’s career was when he had the opportunity to sing for HM King Charles. Performing the iconic song ‘Mack the Knife’, Andrew left a lasting impression on the King, who even danced right in front of him. It was an experience that he cherishes to this day. In the words of HM King Charles himself, ‘What a really fun night’.
“After the show, The King also shared stories of his time in the military, where he was stationed in Somerset, and jokingly advised him to “stay away from the Scrumpy” as it rots the brain!
“Known for his showmanship, Andrew thrives on audience participation and welcomes everyone to dance and engage with the music. The intimate setting allows for an immersive experience, where the audience can fully appreciate Andrew’s exceptional talent and engaging stage presence.”
