CANCER counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) are hosting an online ‘silent auction’ from 1st to 7th November to raise funds for their free counselling and emotional support services for people impacted by cancer or a life-threatening condition.
Fundraising officer Helen White says, “Our auction is a fantastic example of local businesses and individuals coming together with WHY to raise money for a truly excellent cause and spread a little happiness at the same time! We have lots for every taste and budget, including a glamping stay at Marston Park, Camp Bestival tickets, vouchers for meals out, days out, massages, hampers, cakes, toys and even a beautiful homemade crochet blanket to boost your ‘hygge’ this winter! Many thanks to everyone who’s donated prizes and thanks in advance to all our bidders.
“It’s been a very tough time for charities like WHY – we rely on community fundraising to run our much-needed services. The pandemic means there are even more people in our community who need our support and we’re determined to be there for them. Every penny we raise through the auction supports our vital, free, professional support for children, young people, adults, couples and families, to help them cope with the emotional impact of a life-threatening condition, so please bid generously!”
