The presidency of the Frome Selwood Rotary Club has now passed from Andrew Walsh-Waring to Chris Stilton.
As Chris says, “With a name like mine you have to be into cheese!”.
In fact, Chris is much more than “into Cheese”, he is well known as a member of the cheese committee of the Frome Show since 1980 and he is the current chairman of the committee.
His lifelong interest in cheese came from his father who following the war set up home in Devon and started work in a dairy where he was instrumental in starting a cheesemaking operation.
Chris was fascinated by listening to discussions on cheese production and subsequently joined a dairy company as a management trainee. He attended the Reaseheath College of Agriculture to learn the technology, and gain a foundation for his career.
He has worked ever since in either production or technical management.
At the handover Chris said, “I want to lead the club in a year of fun and community service for the next 12 months”.
Anyone thinking about joining is encouraged to see www.fromeselwoodrotary.org.uk for more information about the club.
