SINGER-songwriter Billy Bragg busked outside Raves From The Graves in Frome on Saturday.
The whole of Cheap Street was packed to hear him sing I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis as well as waxing lyrical about independent record stores, including the one he used to work at in the USA.
Billy Bragg was at Raves as part of Record Store Day, a day to celebrate independent record stores and spread the word about the unique culture they offer.
“It was a fantastic day and great to see so many people out in Frome,” said store owner, Richard Churchyard who opened Raves From The Grave 17 years ago. “The store stocks a whole range of items, including new chart CDs and DVDs as well as the old classics. We have all types of musical genres from chart and contemporary to classical, jazz, reggae, even fairground – there’s something for everyone.
“And that’s the aim of Record Day, to show the range that independent record shops like us have to offer.”
