The Open exhibition is the highlight of Black Swan Art’s annual programme of events, and presents an opportunity to buy some affordable art and support a local arts charity.
The show started on Friday 18th October and runs to Saturday 16th November.
This year’s exhibition is an eclectic fusion of craftsmanship and colour, featuring work from innovative young artists through to established practitioners. The show has a Victorian drawing room aesthetic – including a cabinet of curiosities full of humour and surprises – which sits intriguingly alongside contemporary and abstract pieces. It is a journey of discovery which will make visitors stop and think.
Over 100 original artworks will be on display, and the selection covers a wide range of mediums and sizes, including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, photography, sculpture, ceramics, multimedia, video and digital art. Every piece of work is for sale, with prices ranging from £80 to £250 and upwards.
Visitors can vote for their favourite artwork in the People’s Choice Award which is sponsored by Forward Space. The winner will be announced at the end of the exhibition on 16 November.
The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm and on Frome Independent Market Sundays.
