Local author Julian Hight will be holding a book signing in Frome during the run-up to his second publication.
Julian Hight will be signing copies of his first book ‘Britain’s Tree Story’ at Hunting Raven Books on Sunday 7th June from 1.30pm to 3pm. He will also be taking pledges to aid the self-publication of his upcoming work ‘World Tree Story – history & legend of the world’s ancient trees’.
Julian has travelled extensively to photograph and gather stories of 100 magnificent, ancient trees in 40 countries around the world.
This time, Julian is self-publishing, and has recently launched an Indiegogo crowdfunder campaign where the public can get involved by making a pledge to support the book.
Julian said, “Self-publishing through crowd-funding projects like this allows authors to produce beautiful, project driven, independent books.
“World Tree Story has roots, but needs wings to help it fly. By pledging you can be among the first to receive a book whilst supporting a worthwhile project. Hopefully the book will go some way towards raising awareness of ancient trees, a record of what we have, and ultimately a call for their protection.”
Julian’s travels have resulted in a celebration of ancient trees around the world in words and pictures, along with their history, legend and mythology, presenting an extraordinary record of the rich variety of ancient trees surviving worldwide.
The World Tree Story crowdfunding project runs until Saturday 13th June. You can view details at: www.igg.me/at/worldtreestory
