FROME based cancer charity We Hear You (WHY) is once again offering ‘WHYoutdoors’, a free six-week course exploring nature connection, for people living with and beyond cancer.
The Spring course runs at Bath Skyline from Wednesday 3rd May and is for anyone in Somerset, BANES or Wiltshire who is living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis, at any stage. Sessions run one day per week from 10am to 3pm, in the company of two WHYoutdoors facilitators, who are also WHY counsellors.
WHYoutdoors facilitator Barbara Gonzalez says, “WHYoutdoors aims to help participants develop a closer relationship to nature, deepen their own self-awareness and share their experiences with peers making meaningful and supportive connections. It’s not strenuous or difficult – just an opportunity to discover how nature can support emotional and physical wellbeing for those living with and beyond cancer.”
A previous participant said, “This course has offered an opportunity to explore my relationship with nature in a hugely beneficial way. I feel better equipped to handle the ‘bad days’ and I have a better understanding of myself and my emotions. A fantastic bonus has been the camaraderie of sharing and learning from the experiences of others on the course.”
