KNOWN for its love of local food, Frome will once again be taking part in this year’s Somerset Food Trail where businesses will be stirring up a treat with the theme, The 30-mile Feast.
The trail runs from 14th to 30th July and the Frome businesses taking part include Still Sisters, Pomona Supper Club, Get Pickled Somerset, 42 Acres, Vallis Farm, and Lo Rapitenc.
Frome cluster coordinator Hugh Thomas said, “In Frome, there’ll be a few familiar favourites like Still Sisters, who’re doing a gin tasting at their distillery in Ashton Park; Get Pickled, who’re putting on a forage and ferment walk from the owner’s house on Friggle Street; and regenerative farm and retreat 42 Acres, which is hosting a tea foraging tour in their stunning corner of Frome, all in time for cake and a cuppa.
“We also have some relative newcomers to Frome, like Pomona and their Somerset-themed supper held on the banks of the river, and Vallis Farm, who’ll showcase the nature-friendly veg they produce from their market garden.
“The trail will offer up something a bit different to how we usually experience food and drink in and around Frome, with a strong angle on the sustainable and local side of things. All enjoyed in what will hopefully be the best of the British weather.”
