Edventure: Frome has announced that they’re looking for entrepreneurs with sustainable and social business ideas, to participate in an exciting new Local Entrepreneurs’ Forum on June 27th.
Edventure: Frome say, “The goal is to bring local people together and build a community of support around the types of initiatives we want to see flourish in our town.
“The event itself will be an evening of evening of connection, celebration and solidarity. Attendees will share local food, enjoy music from the streets of Frome, and come together to form “a community of green and friendly dragons” to invest in local start-ups or enterprises that need community support to grow. And by investment, they don’t just mean money – it could be skills, networks, workspace, childcare etc,
“So, we can all have a say and a part to play in the kind of economy we want to see in Frome and the world. We can, of course, invest money, but also time, resources, enthusiasm, and any other kind of support! Entrepreneurs supported by the community do better. The local economy does better too.
“Edventure is seeking 4-5 entrepreneurs to pitch their projects. It’s a great opportunity to raise the profile of your venture, as well as to gain financial and/or non-financial investment and support. So, if you have an idea for a venture that will be of benefit to Frome, please check out the full criteria at www.edventurefrome.org/courses/lef/ and email a short summary of your venture to Johannes Moeller, managing director at Edventure on johannes@edventurefrome.org
“And if you’d like to join in the fun and become a dragon, tickets are available for either £5 or £10 (you’re free to choose). Each ticket includes a delicious, locally-sourced dinner. But every penny of your ticket price will actually go straight to the enterprises pitching on the evening.
“The Local Entrepreneurs Forum is hosted by Edventure: Frome working in partnership with Frome Town Council and The REconomy Network. It is part of a global grassroots movement seeking to strengthen our resilience to today’s challenges, and develop a movement for something better.”
