THERE’S just over a fortnight left to send an entry to this year’s Frome Festival Short Story Competition, which closes at midnight on May 31st.
Entries can be uploaded at www.fromeshortstorycompetition.co.uk or posted/hand delivered to Frome Library. Stories should be between 1,000 and 2,200 words, first prize is £400 and the entry fee is £8. Full details are available on the competition website.
In addition to the regular prizes, Frome Writers’ Collective and author Kerry Wilkinson are offering a £50 prize for the best entry by a local writer aged 16 to 21. Entry for this prize is free and should be emailed to fromewriterscollective@gmail.com, with ‘Young Writer’ in the subject line. Other guidelines, including word length, are the same as for the main competition.
