The Plastic Free. Period campaign team has teamed up with local businesses to offer discounts on reusable period products, as part of their ongoing campaign to support the community in making the switch to plastic-free periods.
Green and Healthy Frome, which launched the campaign in 2022, has secured discount codes from various local and online businesses for Frome residents wishing to make the switch to plastic-free and reusable period products.
The participating shops where residents can get a 10% discount by quoting ‘Plastic Free. Period’ in-store are:
• Oakville – a discount is available on Glo bamboo pads, menstrual cups and Natracare products
• Shop Next Door – a discount is available on Natracare products, Flurries period pants and Mooncups
• Acorn Pharmacy – a discount is available on Flo organic tampons
Discounts of up to 25% are also available from the following online stores: Wuka, Revol Undies, Cheeky, EcoFemme, AllMatters (formerly OrganiCup), Mooncup, Fluxies and The Period Lady.

The campaign also includes an initiative to provide free period packs to students. Originally aimed at students on a pupil premium, this offer has now been extended to all Year 8 and 9 students in Frome. Each pack, valued at £15, includes three pairs of period pants, a washable pad, a waterproof bag, and an informational booklet. So far, over 89 packs have been distributed.
Plastic Free. Period is part of the Green and Healthy Frome partnership, which includes Frome Medical Practice, Edventure, and Frome Town Council, and is funded by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund.
