FROME folk duo Cara Dillon and Sam Lakeman are headlining an online folk festival tomorrow, bank holiday Monday, 25th May.
Cara and her husband Sam head an impressive line up of folk artists for Folk On Foot Front Room Festival 2 playing live from their front rooms.
The festival promises seven hours of unique music via the Folk on Foot YouTube Channel and Facebook page – direct to your front room from 2pm.
“After the success of our first Front Room Festival, loads of you asked us to stage another one – so here we are!,” say the Festival organisers. “We have an equally amazing line up of artists…all playing sets of 30 minutes each in their front rooms.
“The lineup: Cara Dillon and Sam Lakeman, Chris Wood, Duncan Chisholm, Eliza Carthy, Frank Turner and Jess Guise, Gwilym Bowen Rhys, John Smith, Johnny Flynn, Kate Rusby and Damien O’Kane, Kathryn Tickell, Kitty Macfarlane, O’Hooley and Tidow, Richard Thompson and Zara Phillips, Rioghnach Connolly and Ellis Davies.
“Plus: the online premiere of a behind the scenes film of The Unthanks shot during their recent ‘Unaccompanied’ tour and featuring beautiful performances at London’s Union Chapel.
“We need your help to put on Folk on Foot Front Room Festival 2. If you can, please donate to support musicians who’ve lost their livelihoods during the coronavirus lockdown.
“Half the money we raise will go to the charity Help Musicians – which supports musicians undergoing financial hardship – and the other half will be divided equally between the artists who take part in the Festival. Music is hugely important in lifting our spirits and salving our souls in these troubling times, so please make a donation to support the talented people who create it.”
