A cat cafe has opened in Frome, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the presence of rescue cats in a relaxed cafe setting.
Puss in Books has opened on Christchurch Street West and is home to two rescue cats, Toast and Marmalade.
The cafe officially opened on Tuesday 14th April, with around 90 people visiting on the first day.
Founder and manager Scarlett Moyle said, “It’s great to be open. The cats are doing well. They are still settling in and exploring. They are content and not anxious, which is good.”
The cafe is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm and closed on Mondays. It serves speciality coffee, teas, hot chocolate, cream teas, afternoon teas and mezze boards.
Puss in Books offers a space for people to relax with the cats, alongside refreshments sourced from local suppliers. The cats came from a hoarding situation and experienced health issues when they were younger, including cat flu, as well as conditions linked to inbreeding.
Scarlett added, “We do eventually plan to run events too but we will be introducing that slowly as we settle in.”
