A cat welfare charity is hosting a ‘Kids Pet Care Party’ next month to help children learn all about animal care.
Hosted by Cats in Distress, the party will be held on Saturday 23rd August at Christ Church Parish Hall for children aged five to 10 years old. It will include a range of activities such as games, the chance to adopt a cuddly toy to take home, making a collar and decorating a pet carrier.
There is a suggested donation of £10 for the party and booking is essential.
Cats in Distress, an independent charity which began in May 2016, runs a purpose-built rescue centre offering cat-friendly housing.
The rescue centre provides spacious accommodation with heated bedrooms and plenty of places for cats to hide if they wish. A team of volunteer socialisers, trained in cat behaviour, help care for the animals. The team focuses on saving cats’ lives and promoting animal welfare.
On its website, Cats in Distress says, “Rehoming domestic cats is just a small part of what we do. As well as working with members of the public to help strays and abandoned cats, we are proud to work alongside other welfare organisations, such as Search & Scan, Cats Protection and the RSPCA.”
