Frome-based cat welfare charity, Cats In Distress, is holding a spring fair this month to raise much-needed funds.
It will be held at Beckington Memorial Hall, Bath Rd, Beckington, BA11 6SH on Saturday 29th April from 10.00am -2.00pm.
“As well as delicious cakes and refreshments, there will be a tombola, raffle, homemade produce, books, jigsaws, cards and of course gifts for your favourite feline,” says the charity.
“The hall has plenty of parking and is well served by local buses from Frome.
“Like all animal charities, Cats In Distress is struggling to cope with the number of animals needing help. In the first four months of 2023 compared to the same period last year, we have seen a 20% increase in the number of animals admitted.
“We’ve responded by recruiting additional fosterers and building a new maternity unit in anticipation of an increase in the number of kittens being born. This coupled with the rising costs of food, litter and utility bills is putting additional pressure on the charity.
“Please come along and support your local cat welfare. The charity is run entirely by volunteers and all profits go to helping us to help more cats. Admission is free.”
