the grounds of the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House in Cornwall echoed to the sound of nearly 360 runners, taking part in the Bodmin Half Marathon on Sunday 17th February.
The 13.1-mile route takes participants out from Bodmin College through the grounds of Lanhydrock Park and back again for two challenging, hilly, multi-terrain laps offering stunning views. Harry Ebdon (MV50-54) made his way from Frome to Cornwall for the race, posting a time of 02:01:58.
Harry was back in action two weekends later at the Imber Ultra on Sunday 3rd March. Starting and finishing in Westbury, this approximately 33-mile trail run takes runners up onto Salisbury Plain and along the Imber Range perimeter path, through some of the most remote parts of southern England. Andrew Smallbone completed the route in a time of 05:44:05. Harry (MV50) crossed the line not long after in 06:04:28. March 3rd also saw the return of the Two Tunnels series of races in Bath. A small contingent of Frome runners braved the cold, wet weather to compete in the 5K and 10K races. Paul Waterer (MSEN) posted a time of 00:26:47 for the 5K. He was followed by Edward Butler in 00:27:35. Richard Riley (MV50-59) was the first Frome club runner to finish the 10K race, posting a time of 00:52:26. He was followed by Paul Waterer (MSEN), who had opted to run in both races on the day and crossed the line in 00:55:15. Laura Ryder (FSEN) finished in 00:55:47, followed by Sally Brooker (MV50-59) in 00:56:36, Anne Porter (FV60) in 00:57:09, Eleanor Swinhoe (FV40-49) in 00:57:49 and Bruce Lockyear (MV50-59) in 00:57:59.

![Town-wide programme brings month of social activities in May
A month-long programme of activities and events is set to take place across the town in May as part of an initiative encouraging residents to connect with themselves, each other and local places.
The scheme, Frome Connects, will run throughout the month and includes a mix of social activities, creative events and informal meet-ups in community spaces.
Highlights include the return of Dress Up Fridays, which began during lockdown and invites people to wear formal clothing or fancy dress and turn the town into their catwalk each Friday.
Set-piece moments include a Kate Bush-themed flashmob (Running Up That [Catherine] Hill) on 30th May, followed by a bell peal at St John’s Church where the bells will play Running Up That Hill.
There will also be a whole-town drone photo on Friday 30th May, with everyone encouraged to ‘look up’ at around 12.30pm.
