THE clock is ticking down to this year’s Frome Show, and tickets are selling well as the hugely popular event gets set for big crowds this weekend.
The 2016 Frome Agricultural & Cheese Show is on track to be as successful as ever with an eclectic mix of trade stands, entertainment and livestock lined up for this Saturday 10th September.
The show’s Sarah Parnell says, “The 2016 Frome Show is set to be the best yet with high ticket sales and the forecast looks good for sunshine and blue skies.
“This is the year of the bake-off at Frome Show, and in true Mary Berry style we have arranged a jam-packed day in the Cheese Pavilion. Be sure to watch things heat up in the kitchen as the students, fit farmers and celebrities show off their cheesy cooking skills.
“Celebrity chef Josh Eggleton will also be cooking up a storm in the Cheese Pavilion demonstrating some delicious recipes.
“We are extremely excited to announce that this year the show is playing host to two baby buffalo from Laverstoke Park Farm. The buffalo will be located at the entrance to the Cheese Pavilion where we will be holding a competition, ‘Name the Baby Buffalos’, for the chance to win prizes.
“Also new this year is the ‘Lamb National’; hedge your bets as you watch sheep navigate around a track and over hurdles! And back by popular demand are professional motocross stunt team, Bolddog Lings, and the 7ft9in Titan the Robot.
“The show is planning to raise more money for charity than ever before and, as a result, the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and Hannah Francis’s Willberry Wonder Pony charity will be in attendance.”
Early bird tickets are now on sale online at www.fromecheeseshow.co.uk or by calling the ticket hotline at Frome’s Cheese & Grain on 01373 455420.
The show is at West Woodlands Showground and runs from 8.30am to 6pm.
Frome residents are encouraged to leave their cars at home and catch the free coach service provided by Berrys on show day.
The bus will run frequently from 9am, picking up from the Old Showfield on Rodden Road, Market Place, Sainsbury’s, the train station, and Badcox
