Thousands of visitors celebrated food, farming and, of course, cheese at the recent Frome Agricultural and Cheese Show.
Held on Saturday 12th September at West Woodlands Showground, the event featured entertainment, competitions, livestock, shopping, food and family activities.
One of the highlights of the show was the Global Cheese Awards, which brought cheesemakers from across the UK and around the world to Frome. This year saw 200 international cheese entries, showcasing cheesemaking from across the globe.
Local producer Wyke Farms Ltd won both the British and Irish Supreme Champion title with its Ivy’s Reserve Vintage Cheddar and the Reserve British and Irish Supreme Champion title with its Extra Mature Cheddar.
The Global Champion title was awarded to Long Clawson Dairy for its Golden Blue, while the Reserve Global Champion went to Zuivelfabriek De Graafstroom from the Netherlands for its De Graafstroom Oud.
In the Village Green Arena, crowds enjoyed Paul Hannam’s ATV Stunt Show, Mounted Games, Ferret World Roadshow, Legacy Gun Dogs Display and Extreme Bike Battle.
The Livestock Village featured cattle, sheep, goats and machinery demonstrations, while the showground also offered food and drink, trade stands, shopping, craft stalls and competitions.
The Little Show-Goers Play Zone provided free activities including pottery painting, sand art, face painting, circus skills and mini crazy golf.
The Frome Agricultural and Cheese Show will return on Saturday 11th September 2027.
