OVER 300 vehicles have pre-registered for this year’s White Horse Classic & Vintage Vehicle Show, organised by Westbury and Trowbridge Lions clubs, on Sunday 1st September.
Following the success of the inaugural event last year, which raised over £6,000 for local charities, the local Lions clubs have collaborated once again to stage the event at White Horse Country Park in Westbury.
From classic cars to commercial vehicles, classic motorbikes to aircraft cockpits, there will be something for everyone to look at.
Alongside the wide range of vehicles on show there will also be fair rides and games, live music, stalls, ice creams, food served throughout the day and a licensed bar.
Live music will be performed by Kirsty Clinch, The Decibelles and, new to the event, Sweet Nightingale.
Local archeologist and classic car enthusiast, Julian Richards, will be the compere for the day. He will be visiting as many exhibitors as he can to give you more information about the owners and their cars.
The main sponsors for this year’s event are Cult Status Cars, Byjama Consulting Services, Polar Truck & Van, JW Ransome & Sons and Complete Construction, as well as support from a number of other local companies.
Westbury Lion, Nigel Coward said, “We learnt a lot from the first event last year and hopefully this year we have created an event for everyone. We look forward to delivering a nice, family day out and raise money for local charities.
“Last year we raised over £6,000 and it would be great to surpass that amount this year. The weather hopefully will also be on our side.
“We have so many vehicles already registered, but hopefully on the day it should reach the 350-400 mark. So, classic cars, beer tent, live music, children’s fun fair and entertainment – what’s not to love? We have a great location at the White Horse Country Park, who are also providing the beer tent, and plenty of space to fill, so come along and see what we have on offer.
“Whether you are a car or motorcycle enthusiast, a connoisseur of vintage tractors and commercial vehicles, or are simply looking for a fun family day out, we are certain you will receive a warm welcome!”
The White Horse Classic & Vintage Vehicle Show is on Sunday 1st September, from 10.30am-4pm.
There will be trophies for the ‘Best in Show’ in all four classes and also an overall ‘Best in Show’.
