FROME College recently donated £170 to Dorothy House – half of the £340 raised at a carol concert in December.
The Christmas carol concert at St John’s Church was held on 12th December, and the college split the proceeds between its own music department and the local hospice charity.
The college’s Jane Davis said, “It is always a pleasure to entertain the community at this very festive event to get everyone in the Christmas mood.
“A large crowd listened to students and staff present an outstanding seasonal musical celebration with an array of musical talent on offer, featuring the College Choir, jazz band, orchestra, Shotgun Marimba, Fiddlestix, ukulele orchestra, brass ensemble, solo performances and congregational carols.
“The well-supported retiring collection raised over £340 and will be split between Dorothy House and the College’s music department to help support our students to continue hosting great events such as this.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Frome community for their generosity and continued support of Frome College.”
