Frome Park Bowls Club is holding an Open Day on Sunday 22nd April, for anybody to have a go at the sport of flat green bowls.
Secretary of Frome Park Bowls Club, Dave Whitehead, says, “Just turn up at the green, which is situated in the picturesque surroundings of Victoria Park, anytime between 11am and 3pm; all you need to bring is a flat pair of shoes.
“You will be able to have a go at a new sport in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere; an experienced bowler will be on hand to give some tuition, and get you playing within a few minutes of arriving.
“Bowls is a game that can be played by people of all ages and abilities; the club currently has members ranging in age from their 20’s to their 80’s. The sport is enjoyed by people who wish to play socially, and by others who like the more competitive element.
“So why not come along and have a go; for those who feel they would like to explore the game further, the Open Day will be followed by weekly tuition sessions, again conducted in a relaxed and friendly way, overseen by the club’s qualified coaching team.”
