Over the May bank holiday weekend, presenter Jenna Myles, founder of the popular blog ‘Somerset cool’, her husband Graeme and studio manager Jennie Smith, are taking over FromeFM for a broadcast lasting 24 hours.
The ‘Somerset coolathon’ marathon starts at 1pm on Saturday May 25th and runs until 1pm on Sunday, bringing the community together to raise money for two local animal charities; the Somerset-based Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue and Lucher SOS. The animal rescue charity is currently helping to save dogs from the horror of the meat trade industry and the team is dedicated to supporting their efforts. Lurcher SOS is a small rescue charity who saved Jenna and Graeme’s sighthounds, Petal and Flower.
The radio show itself is designed to bring people from Frome and all across Somerset and the UK together. Jenna says,“We’ve lots of exciting things planned in the 24 hours which will celebrate the town, the county, art, music, food, wildlife and more, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy and get involved in. We’re just hoping we can stay awake!”
