‘You-th Space’, the Frome-based free counselling service for young people aged between 15 and 18, has been a very popular service running over the past two years, helping in excess of 40 young people in the local area, who would otherwise have been unable to easily access the help and support they needed.
Based within the ‘well established arms’ of Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy it has almost come to the end of its initial funding from the Big Lottery and local grants.
The free youth counselling service says, “Although we were not successful this time around in our application for a grant from Children In Need, we have been encouraged to apply again, and are hopeful that we will receive a grant next time.
“The good news is, with the help of the local Co-op, the Frome Rotary Club and other donors, we are still able to provide this important counselling service over the next year.
“We would like to express our thanks to all those who have supported us and are supporting us. We are actively fundraising to secure the future of this service. Please contact us for further details if you would like to become involved in this.”
