A local couple have used their wedding day to support local charity Fair Frome. The charity runs the food bank amongst other projects to meet the needs of those in crisis.
Jeremy and Lucy Westcott decided that rather than the usual wedding presents, they would both celebrate their marriage and support Fair Frome. They asked guests to bring and donate food for the food bank and make cash donations. This resulted in 104 kg of food and over £300 in cash to give to the charity.
Fair Frome coordinator Wendy Miller Williams said, “I can’t thank Jeremy and Lucy and their guests enough for this brilliant gesture. I think this is a first for us, but hopefully not the last! We have seen an unprecedented demand on the food bank over the summer which is now in effect “overdrawn,” so this is very welcome indeed.”
