FROME Inner Wheel are hosting an afternoon of cream teas this Saturday, 12th May, to raise money for sustainable sanitary products for girls and women in disaster zones.
Inner Wheel member Bridget Bradford says, “The 20:20 Dignity project aims to help girls continue in school and women to remain active within their communities during their periods – something that is culturally often very difficult, and impossible if you are in a disaster zone.
“I think all ladies might have seen the posters in public toilets saying ‘I’ve lost my home, I’ve lost my family and now I have my period’, a situation that we can only imagine and are keen to help alleviate.”
The event will be held at Chapmanslade Village Hall this Saturday, 12th May, from 2pm until 4pm.
Places at the afternoon tea cost £6. Please book your place in advance by calling Rene Cole on 01373 339008 or email Bridget: bcbdz@tiscali.co.uk
