The Frome and District Cribbage League presentation night took place at the Vine Tree recently.
The league winners’ cup was awarded to the Chesterhouse team, with the King’s Head A, Coleford, coming an extremely close second. Prizes were also awarded to the Crown for winning the team knockout and to the runner-up, who were King’s Head B, Coleford.
The winners of the fours tournament were the King’s Head A team 2 ( photograph) with the Crown team 2 being awarded the runners-up.
The crib doubles knockout was won by John Phillis and Martin Tallon of the Crown at Keyford, with second place awarded to Sue and Pete of the Blue Boar A. Singles knockout was won by Fred Butland of the Vine Tree A (photograph) with the runner-up being Keith Sanders of the Blue Boar B. The captain’s cup was held at the King’s Head and the winner was Steve Boorer of the King’s Head A.
Prizes were awarded by the Frome and District Cribbage League’s chairperson, Heather Pruett, who thanked the Vine Tree for hosting the presentation night. She also thanked the continued support that the local pubs and clubs within the area involved with the league.

Having a crib team will encourage continued trade and to help to sustain our local support networks in our pubs and clubs.
