Match Day 17 saw another two wins out of three for Frome CC.
The 1st XI travelled to Wembdon looking to keep their slim hopes of promotion alive. It was not to be as a poor performance saw them skittled out for 86 with only openers Lett and Sanger reaching double figures.
In reply Wembdon lost three wickets and reached the total in 23 overs.
Congratulations go to North Perrott CC on taking the title and their promotion.
The 2nd XI hosted Minehead 2nd XI as they looked to secure their division 2 status. This they did comfortably as a depleted Minehead side saw the hosts rack up 318-3 off their 45 overs, Andy Veal reaching a 100, Potter with 83, Unwin with 55 and Leonard with 31 the chief run makers.
In reply, Minehead battled well but regular wickets fell to all the Frome bowlers as the visitors were dismissed for 168, Andrew Stevens top scoring for Minehead with 82. Hamblin, Harman and Stonell picking up 2 wickets apiece for the hosts.
The 3rd XI continued their push for promotion from Division 7 as they visited Purnell 2nd XI. Skipper Larder won the toss and asked the hosts to bat on a damp wicket following the overnight rain. This proved to be the right decision as a combination of tight bowling and a difficult pitch made scoring difficult. The hosts were dismissed for 136 in the 38th over with Ollie Brook picking up 4 wickets, Mark Harman with 3 and Steve Baldwin with 2.
In reply, Frome started brightly with Lamb picking up early boundaries but quickly fell caught, Knight batted patiently to a fine 58 before being bowled, Coy fell for 27 but youngsters Brook and Cox saw Frome over the line gaining maximum points in their promotion bid.
