CRY Heart Screening sessions were recently held at Frome Rugby Club on Tuesday and Wednesday 28th and 29th October.
This event was funded by The Julian Memorial Fund that is held with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). In total over the two days 193 young people aged between 14-35 were screened by a team of seven professionals from CRY.
Organisers Shirley and Dave Wort of Frome said, “As a family we have raised nearly £34,000 since our son Julian passed away in March 2000.
“On the Wednesday, David Rendel, the newly selected parliamentary candidate to succeed David Heath MP for Somerton and Frome visited us during the morning screenings.
“We are extremely grateful to The Frome Rugby Club for allowing us to use the clubhouse, and facilities for the two days free of charge. It was an emotional couple of days for us, but we hope it gave the young people and their families peace of mind.”
