Residents are being encouraged to take advantage of free energy advice available at Frome Medical Practice to help lower energy bills and create more comfortable, efficient homes.
The relaxed drop-in sessions run at the Frome Medical Practice on the first Wednesday of every month from 12pm to 4pm. Frome Town Council is encouraging residents to drop-in and talk one-to-one with a trained Energy Advice Champion about what matters to them when it comes to energy and their home.
From better use of heating controls to draughtproofing, or understanding what help you might be entitled to, small changes can make a big difference. The advice is free, impartial and tailored to residents.
A spokesperson for Frome Town Council said, “If you would benefit from more personalised support, the Healthy Homes team also offers free home visits. The friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, trained by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, can help with fitting simple energy-saving items—like radiator panels and draught excluders—and offer hands-on advice.”
Cllr Fiona Barrows said, “These sessions are a really practical way to feel more in control of your energy use. We to help as many people as possible in Frome to have a home that’s comfortable, healthy and affordable to run. Whether you’re unsure how to reduce your energy use, confused by your bills, or wondering what support might be available, just drop in and have a chat, no appointment needed – the team are lovely and always happy to help.”
The project is also on the lookout for more volunteers to join the team as Energy Advice Champions.
“It is a rewarding way to help your community and full training is provided,” says the spokesperson for Frome Town Council.”
