THE Luttrell family has raised £1,140 for Frome’s Missing Links, smashing their target of £815 – and they haven’t had to cycle a single mile yet!
Next week, Dalma and Paul Luttrell with their children, eight-year-old Tinker and five-year-old Artur, will cycle 75 miles from Frome to Corfe Castle.
With donations still pouring in, the family look set to raise even more for the local organisation. “It’s been a big surprise!” said Dalma.
The family were inspired to organise the fundraiser when a cycling trip was cut short when they came to the end of a cycle path, in the middle of a field.
Talking to the Frome Times last month, Dalma said, “Frome’s Missing Links is the organisation in charge of the hard work to maintain the existing bicycle paths and is raising funds to join the missing links towards Longleat and on the other side towards Radstock. It would make me happy if we could cycle further with the boys on traffic-free cycle paths, all linked together.”
The family will set off on their trip next Sunday, 6th May, at 9.30am from Cycology bike shop, at the Old Courthouse. Dalma said, “You can come and send us off on our bike tour!”
