Rise Acupuncture Clinic on Church Street will be hosting a free ‘de-stress day’ on Saturday 7th March from 11am until 4pm, as part of Acupuncture Awareness Week.
Becky Lovell-Newman, who runs the clinic, will be available to answer questions and demonstrate simple ways to cope with and reduce stress. Refreshments and a range of organic stress-relieving products will be available.
Becky believes acupuncture to be a relaxing experience and effective treatment for helping reduce stress.
Becky said, “”Stress can make it difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but reaching for your favourite fast foods or that bottle of wine after a hectic day are only short-term fixes which won’t tackle the root cause of the problem.
“A course of traditional acupuncture helps to target the root cause of the problem as treatment is unique for each individual. Typically the cause could be a deficiency in the body exacerbated by overwork or a lack of proper rest and nourishing food.
“Together with a specific treatment plan which addresses diet, exercise and lifestyle, many of my patients find traditional acupuncture to be a wonderfully relaxing experience. When looking for a practitioner, make sure you find a qualified acupuncturist registered with the British Acupuncture Council to ensure a high standard of care and safety.”
Acupuncture is a medical practice that involves inserting needles into the skin for therapeutic purposes.
