A singing group for people with dementia and memory problems in Frome has received a £500 funding boost from the Asda Community Foundation.
Songs for the Memory was awarded the funds, which will go towards the running costs of the group and help ensure the weekly singing sessions can continue for another year.
Frome’s Asda Community Champion Jackie Bryant recently visited the group to present the cheque.
Volunteer Harleigh said, “We are incredibly grateful to Jackie at ASDA Frome for her continued support of our singing group. Jackie regularly pops in with donations of tea, coffee, biscuits and other refreshments for our members to enjoy before our singing sessions, which are always very much appreciated.”
Songs for the Memory is a charity offering weekly singing sessions for people with dementia, memory problems and their carers. The sessions run every Tuesday from 1.30pm to 3pm at the Masonic Hall, North Parade.
The Asda Community Foundation supports small, grassroots groups in local communities.
