Sat. 13th July. West of England Premier Cricket League – WEPL Somerset Minehead 273 all out Frome 224 for 9
Saturday’s game proved disappointing for the showmen as Minehead’s batsmen appeared to collapse from the incredible bowling of R Croker (7-54).
The spearhead of Frome’s attack left Minehead with a score of 28-5 from 7 overs. However after a miraculous recovery from Minehead’s number 8 batsman Wilson (113), they achieved an extremely competitive total of 273, despite the efforts of the showmen.
After the interval, Frome started their run chase. R Croker (42) and Lett (63) put on an impressive partnership of 113 before both fell in quick succession. Frome’s middle order crumbled, leaving the showmen 148-6. But a valiant effort from P Sanger (25) and Barton (26) gained extra batting points as a consolation. Frome still remain 33 points ahead at the top of the league, with their next match against Wellington at home on Saturday 20th July (12.30 pm).
