THIS week Frome Drama held their first Zoom committee meeting to discuss how they are coping in Lockdown.

Sue Ross, chair reports, “In April we should have had a production of The Weir by Connor McPherson – the set was ready, costumes found, some great music written, and the cast were ready to go.
“But then theatres closed, including the wonderful Merlin Theatre. Nothing can be certain in these difficult times, but The Weir is not cancelled, merely postponed.
“We very much hope that we will be able to bring it to you in November – or failing that, March 2021.
“We had also just held auditions and put together a great cast for our Festival production of God of Carnage by Yazmin Reza. With the Festival now cancelled for 2020, and in light of all the other uncertainties, we have now decided this will also be postponed to be part of Frome Festival 2021.

“We are really missing our regular play-readings and are currently exploring ideas for some ‘digital drama’.
“When we have some firm news and dates, we will be publicising this on our website – www.fromedrama.com and Facebook and Twitter – do keep in touch.”
