Great Elm residents Brian and Sandie Blake are following up their successful Summer Ball of 2012 with another opportunity for friends to dress up and dance on Saturday 9th August in Mells’ historic Tythe Barn.
Music will be provided by a 50s and 60s disco and the buffet, courtesy of local caterer Maggie Sharpe of Mells, will be salmon en croute, lemon & honey chicken, mango & coconut rice salad and panzanella, followed by summer berry bakewell tart or chocolate & walnut torte.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, are £25 each and are available in advance from Mells Village Shop. Participants are asked to bring their own wine or other drinks and are encouraged to add to the occasion by wearing black tie and posh frocks. Brian and Sandie Blake are organising this event to raise funds for community run Mells Village Shop and Café of which they are keen supporters. Brian has previously got together a work party of volunteers to repaint Mells Café while it was closed for snagging works.
