Two drive-thru units, including a coffee shop and a restaurant, along with a petrol station, shop and dog park could be built near Frome.
A planning application has been submitted to Somerset Council by Warleigh Capital, Spectrum Southern Ltd and White Row Country Foods Ltd. It seeks permission to develop approximately 2.55 hectares of currently undeveloped land to the south of Old Warminster Road at White Row Farm. The site is just off the A36, with access to Frome via the White Row Farm roundabout onto the A361.
The developer says the scheme will create 45 jobs and provide an “accessible local service for the local community”, including space for a dog park.
The development would
also include an EV charging hub and 70 parking spaces.
The design and planning statement, prepared by Savills on behalf of the applicants, says the application is proposed as part of White Row Farm’s local business expansion. It added, “The proposed development will enhance the local economy, increasing choice and competition within the local area. It will also provide a service that is essential to a wide range of users.”
The scheme will now be considered by Somerset Council.
