Local jazz orchestra, FSB Big Band, are appearing at the Rook Lane Chapel, Bath Street, on Saturday 2nd November.
On behalf of the orchestra, who are also known as the Frome Swing Band, Dave Wallace says, “This much-loved local jazz orchestra will be performing the music of the great jazz orchestras such as Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton and more played authentically, with passion and swing. Our classy vocalist/MC will sing some timeless numbers, and dancing is warmly encouraged. The tradition lives on; this is a show for music-lovers of all ages.
“As you know, this kind of music was really the pop and dance music of an earlier time (although it has never really gone away), and so it appeals to those who have fond memories of partying to these sounds in their day, as well as to younger fans of jive, swing and good music in general.
“The concert is at Rook Lane Chapel in Frome on Saturday 2nd November. There is disabled parking at the venue and clear level access via the front door to the performance space.
“Tickets are £10 or £8 for concessions, plenty available on the door, from Raves From The Grave in Frome and from our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ FromeSwingBand or our website: www.fsb-bigband. co.uk/gigs.”
