Applications are now open for the Frome Lions’ sponsored swim relay, raising funds for local causes.
Teams of six are invited to compete against one another for their chosen charities. Funds will be split 50/50 between the teams’ chosen charities and the Lions Club’s beneficiary of the year, Frome Birth Talk.
“Frome Birth Talk provides the only free, face-to-face counselling service specifically for pregnant women and people who have lost a baby, and new parents in Frome and surrounding areas,” says Lion, Mike Geake.
The swim is open to all clubs, business houses, schools, associations, youth organisations and family groups and is due to be held on Sunday 16th March at Frome Leisure Centre.
“There is no limit to the number of teams entered by any one organisation but no swimmer may enter in more than one team,” says Mike. “Swimming will take place in 25-minute sessions from 12pm, with each member of the team obtaining their own sponsors.
“We will commence the afternoon with the pool configured for swimming widths rather than lengths for any team that wishes to swim widths.”
Application forms are obtainable from the club’s website www.fromelions.org.uk.
