LOCAL football club, Frome Town United (FTUFC), is running a kids’ club with FA qualified coaches, on Fridays at 5.00pm, at the club.
John Rawlins said, “If you have children at reception age that would like to run off energy, why not try the kids’ club. It’s fun and educational, so if you are interested, please contact us through our website or via email, frometownunitedfc@gmail.com
“We let them play and most importantly, have lots of fun whilst learning the game and making great friendships!
“We also need willing volunteers for coaches, so if you have an interest in football or want to get involved, let us know at frometownunitedfc@gmail.com We would love to hear from you.”
Last weekend, the Frome Town United teams had a successful winning streak.
John said, “Frome Town United under 13 girls bounced back from a defeat to play their first ever cup match against Durrington under 13 girls, in the Wiltshire League cup, winning by 10 – 0. This was a massive team performance with some fantastic goals, with the defence also keeping a clean sheet. This is off the back of a Somerset FAs coaching session the previous week.
“FTU under 15 Harriers braved the weather to play against Chippenham Barca and produced a well-deserved 4 – 1 win.
“FTU under 13 Falcons continued their 100% record this season with a 2 – 1 win in a top-of-the-table clash with Chilcompton. The Falcons were a goal down, but determination and skill saw two well-worked goals take the match.
“FTU under 10 Eagles finally got a match after having many called off, this played in the true spirit of the game – really close with three good goals. A great advert for youth football club teamwork and fair play.”
