Fair Frome has launched a fundraiser to help get its furniture bank van back on the road following problems with the engine.
The furniture bank delivers essential household items, for free, to residents who have been referred to the service in the BA11 postcode area. Where possible, they also repair cookers and washing machines using local businesses.
However, their current van needs a replacement engine and to get it back on the road quickly and ensure they can deliver much-needed items to people in the community, they have launched a fundraiser with an aim of raising £5,000.
Senior Coordinator of Fair Frome, Lenka Grimes said, “As the cost-of-living crisis continues the demand on the furniture bank has grown.
“Our furniture bank van needs a new engine. We deliver to those most in need who are vulnerable, elderly, single parents with families, recently moved to the area for various reasons, moving from temporary accommodation and more.”
