The Lighthouse, the 17th century Country House set in 35 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Frome, will be celebrating the exciting launch of the Shipwreck adventure playground with a Family Fun Day on Monday 28th August (Bank Holiday).
Hannah Lane from The Lighthouse said, “Our star attraction is of course the shipwreck, and there will also be a Circus Fantastic drop-in workshop, a Pirate Ship bouncy castle, interactive arts and craft, music and dancing for kids, welly throwing and apple bobbing, free for all the family to enjoy.
“Please do come and join us for an afternoon of fun. You are all invited!”
The Lighthouse also has some exciting changes planned ahead.
Hannah explained, “We have been established now for 10 years as a 4 Star Guest House with 10 bedrooms and we are moving into our next stage of evolution, with some exciting developments both in the park and the main house.
“The first development, which will be ready in the next few weeks, is a new playground themed as a shipwreck with Robinson Crusoe tree house, which is adjacent to our relaxing Japanese Garden and Cafe Nouveau. The playground is the first stage in the expansion of our family-friendly accommodation.
“The second stage, due to be completed by April 2018, is to redevelop the existing main house into a further 8 family bedrooms. This means we can accommodate more families wishing to visit the many attractions in and around the vibrant town of Frome, Longleat and the surrounding area.
“Over the next few years we will continue to develop more agility trails and nature walks through the park and woodland, plus boating on the lakes, and we would invite all those who visit the Lighthouse to thoroughly explore and enjoy this green and gorgeous parcel of Somerset countryside.”
