Stuck for things to do with your children during the long summer holidays?
Look no further than the Children’s Festival’s offering of fun and creativity! Teaming up again with Fair Frome, the Children’s Festival have pulled together a range of different activities for the whole family over the summer. From gardening to sports, crafts to exotic animals, there’s something for everyone across town.
Organiser Lenka Grimes said, “We‘re very aware of how challenging the long summer break can be for many families so we’ve arranged low cost activities throughout the holiday period. We’ve included some firm favourites and some new ideas, with a focus on getting people outdoors and active, whether that’s making wildflower seed bombs or taking part in accessible sport. We’re also keeping the Toy Library going on most weeks in the summer holidays, when older siblings can come and play with our huge range of board games – why not become a member and borrow them too? All our sessions are supported by an experienced family worker so they’re suitable for children with additional needs.”
Continuing their partnership with Fair Frome, the holiday activities are followed by a healthy lunch which is free for families on benefits. This project is supported by the Santander Foundation and has been made possible by a grant from Localgiving and Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Additional support has come from Bistro Lotte, Asda, Storagebase and Lettings R Us together with grants from Frome Town Council, Live West and the County Disabilities team.
