FRIENDS and family of the late Andrew Gillard, a former resident of Frome, are holding a fundraiser in his memory in aid of Friends of Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, who cared for Andrew during the last few months of his life.
On Saturday 15th September at Rode Cricket Pavilion, Andrew’s daughter Kate, alongside friends and family, have organised a family fun day, with the aim to raise as much money as they can for the unit, who cared for Andrew before he died of cancer last December.
The event will take place from 12pm until late, with £3 entry fee for adults for all day and evening, including free parking, and £1 for children. There will be a bar, snack van, tractor rides, welly wanging, skittles, donkey rides, disco and live music, rodeo bull, clay shooting, face painting and more.
Sophie Francis, one of the organisers said, “By raising funds we can help others in the same situation, whilst remembering a wonderful man who is greatly missed by many. Andrew ran his own quarry lorries and was a man who would help anyone, a true gentleman.”
