Local people took to the catwalk at a fashion show recently to raise money for a counselling service.
The charity fashion show took place at M&Co on Westway last month, in aid of Wessex Counselling, who received £228 from the evening.
Jane Bennett from the service said, “It was a great night and we hope to make this an annual event. A fabulous amount of money was raised and models of all ages strutted their stuff on the catwalk.
“The audience then enjoyed a glass of wine and a late night browse in the store.
“Wessex Counselling would like to thank the staff at M&Co, Billiy Almond who volunteered her time to do the models’ hair and all those who modelled, lent chairs and equipment and donated to the cause.
“Fundraising is important to be able to run schemes for local people and we would welcome contact from anyone who would like to be involved in the future.
“The money has gone towards offering free counselling to local people on low incomes, a service we run from the Key Centre in Frome.”
Wessex Counselling is a Frome-based mental health service formed in 1983 to offer professional but affordable counselling, psychotherapy, and training. They provide services for people in and around Frome, Bath, Bristol, Warminster, and Street.
